I've worked 3 different departments at this hospital and they consistently have support staff that allows a better quality work life compared to most other places.  The last department was my favorite, the OR which was also great.   Plenty of ORA's, center core techs, anesthesia techs that make life way easier on the scrubs and circulators.

Float pool is where it’s at. The managers in float pool are so responsive and helpful, flexible, etc. lots of resources- VAT, rapid response nurses, wound care RNs. Ratios usually 4 in med/surg, 5 at night. Nice cafeteria, free parking. Friendly nurses/staff.

      <p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN with a current AK RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications for a hospital-based day shift assignment.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Position is in a hospital Cath Lab in an acute care setting</li><li>Day shift schedule with four 10-hour shifts (7:00 to 17:00)</li><li>Required on-call one day per week and every fourth or fifth weekend</li><li>Approximately one Saturday per month is part of the scheduled shift</li><li>Patients include those needing cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures</li><li>May float to Electrophysiology (EP) or Interventional Radiology (IR) departments as needed</li><li>Epic is the charting system used and Epic experience is required</li><li>Scrubs are provided</li><li>Responsibilities include pre-procedural assessment, assisting during cardiac procedures, and post-procedure care</li><li>Expected to float between facilities within the state if needed</li><li>First time travelers are eligible and encouraged to apply</li><li>Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and meet the 50 mile radius rule</li><li>Time off is approved individually post-offer, with only one request allowed per 13-week assignment</li><li>Free on-site parking is available</li><li>Magnet designated, Level II Trauma hospital</li><li>Returned travelers must not have worked in the facility in the past three months</li></ul>

      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an active AK RN license and recent OR experience for a Magnet, Level II Trauma hospital assignment.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in the Operating Room of an acute hospital setting</li><li>Level II Trauma, Magnet facility with 407 staffed beds</li><li>Three 12-hour day shifts per week, with start times of either 6:45-19:15 or 9:00-21:30</li><li>Weekend shifts are required</li><li>Call is required, limited to covering for call-offs</li><li>Travelers may be required to float to like units or other affiliated hospitals as needed</li><li>Epic is the charting system used and experience is required</li><li>Scrubs are provided</li><li>Expected to provide perioperative care and circulate or scrub as assigned in the OR</li><li>Team environment with support staff in a high-acuity, trauma setting</li><li>All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state if needed</li><li>Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year</li><li>Assignment length is up to 13 weeks with maximum of 1 year at this facility, followed by a minimum 6-month break before returning</li><li>Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, averaging 16 hours</li><li>Time off requests are considered on an individual basis and must be submitted with initial application</li><li>Free parking is available onsite</li><li>Housing options may be limited in the area</li></ul>
