I've worked 3 different departments at this hospital and they consistently have support staff that allows a better quality work life compared to most other places.  The last department was my favorite, the OR which was also great.   Plenty of ORA's, center core techs, anesthesia techs that make life way easier on the scrubs and circulators.

Float pool is where it’s at. The managers in float pool are so responsive and helpful, flexible, etc. lots of resources- VAT, rapid response nurses, wound care RNs. Ratios usually 4 in med/surg, 5 at night. Nice cafeteria, free parking. Friendly nurses/staff.

For every patient there is 1 bedside RN, a Virtual RN, and 1 CNA. <br /><br />Beside RN 1:4<br />CNA patient ratios are 1:6<br /><br />The virtual nurse works remotely and assists patient with admission, discharge, rounding, education, plans of care, and safety rounds.<br /><br />Must has AK RN license in hand for Auto Offer.<br /><br />30% of patient population are cardiac in nature. CHF, MI, S/p TAVR, MVR patients, Pacemaker patients, Cardiac arrythmia patients, Drug load patients, Angiovac, ACS patients, etc.<br />Respiratory patients including COVID, FLU, COPD and Asthma exacerbations, Trach patients (&gt;24h since placement), chronic home ventilators. Able to do high flow NC and BIPAP.<br />Overflow for Neuro patients, Renal patients.<br />Complicated medical surgical patients requiring higher level of monitoring.
