<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Aug 3, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position at a Level 1 trauma, nationally ranked children's hospital in San Diego, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience and a CA RN license.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>NICU setting within a 60-bed unit at a Magnet-recognized, Level 1 trauma, nationally ranked academic teaching children's hospital</li><li>Patient population includes critically ill neonates requiring advanced respiratory support, surgical care, and complex line management</li><li>Experience required with oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes</li><li>Comfort with line changes involving multiple drips and pre/post-op care is required</li><li>Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)</li><li>Weekend availability required with full scheduling flexibility (no fixed weekend requirement)</li><li>Floating required within scope to other units including PICU and CVICU, as well as NICU satellite campuses</li><li>Charting via Epic</li><li>No on-call responsibilities</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active CA RN license required; pending license considered if an ETA for posting is available</li><li>Current BLS and Advanced NRP certifications required; PALS preferred</li><li>Minimum 2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience required</li><li>Level 3 NICU experience considered only if the candidate has strong surgical experience from a Level 3 NICU that performs surgeries on newborns</li><li>Cardiac experience required</li><li>Must have reliable personal transportation for floating to satellite campuses</li><li>2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration</li><li>Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>First-time travelers with Level 4 NICU experience are welcome to apply</li><li>Local candidates are not accepted for this position</li><li>Maximum of 6 days of requested time off (RTO) for the duration of the contract</li><li>All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application</li><li>Mileage is reimbursed when floating from the home base NICU to any satellite campus location</li><li>Hospital is recognized as a Top 10 Best Children's Hospital by U.S. News &amp; World Report, holds Magnet Recognition, and is a Beacon Award of Excellence recipient</li><li>Free parking is available for travelers</li><li>Any color scrubs are permitted</li></ul>
