<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Jun 22, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float pool PCU/Progressive Care position requiring both KS and MO (or compact) RN licenses and a minimum of 2 years of recent specialty experience.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>This is a float pool position — candidates will not be assigned a home unit and will rotate across approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments, including floating to other metro campuses as needed</li><li>Patient population includes cardiac, neuro, sepsis, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, ETOH, SI, COVID, and wound care cases</li><li>Patient ratio is 1:5</li><li>Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, pre/post cardiac cath care, and emergency response</li><li>Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management</li><li>Equipment used includes 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell; Virtual Nurses are also utilized</li><li>Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)</li><li>8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period, with shifts falling on any combination of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday</li><li>No on-call requirements</li><li>Block scheduling is not available</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active RN license for both Kansas and Missouri (or a compact license covering both states) must be in hand at time of consideration</li><li>KS or compact RN license required</li><li>Required certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)</li><li>Preferred certification: ACLS</li><li>Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/progressive care specialty experience required, including at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days</li><li>Experience in Med/Surg telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown settings required</li><li>Willingness to float between units and metro campuses is required — refusal may result in contract cancellation</li><li>2 professional references required: at least one must be at the supervisor level or above, and the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year</li><li>SSN required for consideration</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Charge RN assignments and holiday shift coverage may be required as needed</li><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position</li><li>Travel partners are not accepted</li><li>RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract</li><li>Compliance modules are required and must be completed prior to the start date; modules average 10–15 hours total and are completed annually thereafter</li><li>Drug screening is required; a diluted or positive result that cannot be cleared will result in assignment cancellation and a 6-month waiting period before reapplying</li></ul>
