Not bad at all, but also it wasn’t perfect. Floated a bit much. My floor was at the top of the hospital so I had to go to my floor and the. To the other unit which was inconsiderate. Nurses were mostly great with one or two jerks. Otherwise fine.

I was floated nearly every shift during my time at Salem. I was also told I would work ICU/PCU and worked PCU/med surg instead, which was not where my primary experience was. I had unsafe assignments and didn’t feel the hospital prioritized or safety. I learned a lot, but I would rather know what I am headed into prior to contract start, and I wish patient safety would have been better prioritized.

 American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an outpatient hand therapy position in Oregon, requiring 1-2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.
 
 <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
 <ul><li>Outpatient OT setting at a hospital in Salem, Oregon</li><li>Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM)</li><li>Caseload focused on outpatient hand therapy, including post-operative hand surgery patients</li><li>Splinting services are a routine part of the caseload</li><li>Epic EMR — experience is required with no exceptions</li><li>Floating may be required to a nearby sister hospital approximately 15 minutes away</li><li>Responsibilities include patient evaluation and development and follow-through of individualized treatment plans</li><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>Local candidates are accepted at the same rates — no radius restriction</li><li>All requested time off (RTO) must be finalized prior to submission and cannot be modified afterward; additional RTO requests after submission may result in removal from consideration or contract cancellation</li><li>Former permanent employees of Salem Health must have been separated for at least 6 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler</li><li>Completion of non-billable facility modules (up to 8 hours) is required prior to start and annually thereafter</li><li>Refusing to float when required may result in contract cancellation</li></ul>
