<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 5x8hrs</li><li>Hours: 40 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Jul 27, 2026</li><li>Length: 23 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for an acute care hospital position in San Mateo County, CA, with a preferred Sunday–Thursday schedule.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Acute care hospital setting within a public county hospital and outpatient rehabilitation department</li><li>Department includes a multidisciplinary team of 35 physical, occupational, and speech therapists</li><li>Patient population includes adults with neurologic and orthopedic injuries, post-operative surgical conditions, arthritis, CVA, hand injuries, nerve injuries, tendon repairs, and upper extremity conditions</li><li>Day shift, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)</li><li>Preferred schedule is Sunday through Thursday</li><li>Epic EMR preferred</li><li>Weekend and/or holiday coverage availability strongly preferred</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Current CA OT license required; license required if applicable</li><li>Current BLS certification required</li><li>Minimum 2 years of occupational therapy experience required</li><li>Experience with adults, skilled nursing, and acute care settings required</li><li>Strong proficiency in ADLs, adaptive equipment, and evaluation tools</li><li>Ability to lift or assist with lifting patients and equipment</li><li>Must be able to provide suitable transportation between work sites</li><li>2 supervisor references preferred</li><li>Full DOB and full SSN required for consideration</li><li>Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>First week of the assignment (Monday–Friday) is dedicated to training and orientation</li><li>Responsibilities include planning and performing OT treatments, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, providing therapeutic activities to promote independence in daily living, and completing thorough documentation</li><li>Additional duties include splint design and fabrication, patient and family education, discharge planning, and community service referrals</li><li>May serve as a clinical preceptor in a university-affiliated OT student program</li><li>Spanish fluency is preferred but not required</li><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>All RTO requests require facility approval and must be submitted upfront</li><li>Work hours may vary week to week based on departmental needs</li></ul>
