Required Experience

* Knowledge in diagnoses and types of treatment for speech, language, swallowing and behavior problems of neurologically impaired at a level generally acquired through completion of a Master's or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
* Clinical Specialty Recognition by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or certification in neurological communication disorders by the Academy of Neurological Communication Disorders and Sciences is desired.
* Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
* Current Illinois license as Speech-language Pathologist or Temporary license as Speech-Language Pathologist if in Clinical Fellowship Year.
* Current CPR certification.

Required Experience

Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities Required

* Level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a BSN.
* Current State license as Registered Nurse.
* A minimum of 5 years relevant clinical experience.
* Professional certification by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Society in wound care and at least one other practice area (ostomy or continence).
* Interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate with all levels of health care professionals, to motivate and instruct staff therapists and students, and to represent the discipline, the Center, and the Institute to the general public and professional organizations.
* Understanding of budgetary principles and processes.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and documentation/retrieval in electronic medical record systems.
* Basic knowledge of quality monitoring and quality improvement practices. Ability to analyze data and recognize trends.
* Able to be available for consults at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and across the continuum of care.

Wound Nurse Consultant - Nursing Education, Part timeThe Wound Nurse Consultant is responsible for performing individualized and age-specific assessment of patients with wounds or ostomies and, in conjunction with the interdisciplinary patient care team, developing individualized treatment plans.
