<h3>Mandatory Experience:</h3>
<ul><li>Minimum of 2 years in Labor, Delivery, and Recovery</li><li>Experience with mother-baby either by floating to the mother-baby unit or caring for mothers and babies in an LDRP setting</li><li>Experience with immediate newborn care including medication administration, weight, length, head circumference, and physical assessments</li><li>Required circulating in C-sections</li><li>Willingness to perform charge duties or precept</li><li>Required to float; nurses take their own patients to the operating room to assist in cesarean deliveries</li></ul>
<h3>Top Qualifications:</h3>
<ul><li>Familiarity with Meditech is a plus</li><li>Proficiency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole is advantageous</li><li>Scrubbing in C-sections is preferred but not required</li></ul>
<h3>Duties:</h3>
<ul><li>Collect relevant patient health data during assessments</li><li>Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses</li><li>Identify individualized and expected patient outcomes</li><li>Develop and implement a care plan prescribing nursing interventions to attain expected outcomes</li><li>Evaluate and update patient progress</li></ul>
<h3>Responsibilities:</h3>
<ul><li>Report significant changes in patient conditions</li><li>Counsel and involve patients and families according to the care plan</li><li>Assist patients and families in coping with stress related to illness</li><li>Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice</li><li>Reflect knowledge of current professional nursing standards and healthcare regulations</li><li>Acquire and maintain competency in patient care</li><li>Contribute to the professional development of peers and healthcare providers</li><li>Make ethical decisions on behalf of patients</li><li>Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide humane and healing care</li><li>Use clinical inquiry and research in nursing practice</li><li>Consider safety, effectiveness, and cost in care planning</li><li>Adhere to nursing and hospital policies</li><li>Participate in continuing education to maintain nursing standards </li><li>Demonstrate respect for patient dignity and cultural diversity</li><li>Utilize LEAN strategies for process improvement</li><li>Perform other duties as required or assigned</li></ul>
