<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Jul 6, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment in a small acute care surgical services unit, requiring at least 3 years of experience and significant on-call availability.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Acute care hospital OR setting with 2 surgical suites, with only 1 room running at a time</li><li>Common cases include cholecystectomies, appendectomies, hernia repairs, abdominal hysterectomies, hysteroscopies, D&amp;Cs, colonoscopies, endoscopies, and C-sections</li><li>Case volume varies by day: ~4 cases on Mondays and Wednesdays (mainly colonoscopies and endoscopies), 3–4 GYN cases on Tuesdays, emergent-only on Thursdays, and ~5 cases on Fridays</li><li>Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts with a 0700 arrival; shift ends at 1930, though early release at 1630 is possible when no cases are scheduled, with an expectation to remain available for callback</li><li>17–20 on-call shifts per 8-week scheduling period, including 12-hour weeknight call shifts and 24-hour weekend call shifts; call response time is 30 minutes</li><li>Staffing model includes 4 RNs per shift covering Preop, OR, PACU, and Float roles; assignments are distributed the week prior</li><li>Floating required between Preop and PACU; may also be asked to assist in other departments when no surgeries are scheduled</li><li>Epic EMR used; experience preferred</li><li>1 CST per shift on most days (2 CSTs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; 1 CST on Thursday)</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active ID or Compact RN license required at time of consideration — pending licensure will not be accepted</li><li>Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required (non-negotiable); copies of active certifications required — pending certifications not accepted</li><li>Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required</li><li>Preop and PACU experience preferred</li><li>Scrubbing experience preferred but not required</li><li>Driver's license required</li><li>2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire</li><li>Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Scrub attire is provided by the facility</li><li>Orientation consists of 2 days in the OR with some exposure to Preop and PACU; extensive training in those areas is not provided</li><li>OR RN may serve as backup in C-section cases when the RT is occupied in the ER, with the L&amp;D RN as primary backup</li><li>An ANM (Assistant Nurse Manager) oversees surgical services; there is no charge nurse</li><li>Small, collaborative team environment with a slower pace and frequent downtime</li><li>No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted</li><li>Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least one year before being considered for a travel assignment</li><li>Housing is not available on-site; the nearest area with ample housing options is Boise, though RV sites are available locally</li></ul>
