I enjoyed Shands South Tower.  It is a teaching facility and level 1 trauma hospital.  The patient population is mostly critical.  Staff and management are very supportive.  It was a great learning experience for me.  I learned to circulate transplants and received extra training in robotics.  Supplies are well organized and rooms are spacious.  

 Allow an additional 9 minutes to your daily commute because the parking deck for travelers is not close by.  A bus is available.  I always walked.  Also, travelers are not exempt from flu shots.

      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU/PICU) position requiring FL or compact RN licensure, prior open heart PICU experience, and travel nursing background.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Position is based in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) and Pediatric ICU within a hospital central staffing office</li><li>Level 1 trauma and teaching hospital setting treating a wide range of complex pediatric acute care patients</li><li>Shifts are 12 hours, both days (0700-1930) and nights (1900-0730) on variable days</li><li>36 hours per week with requirement to work some holidays and weekends</li><li>Open to floating to other units with travelers floating before permanent staff</li><li>Epic EMR is used and recent experience with this system is required</li><li>50-mile radius rule applies for eligibility</li><li>Care for a diverse population of pediatric acute care and complex cardiac patients in both PCICU and PICU settings</li><li>All new RN starts will need to review rhythms prior to start and may require additional training if EKG tests are not successfully completed</li><li>Unit manager interviews are required</li><li>Influenza vaccination is mandatory prior to start, with only documented medical exemptions accepted; egg allergy is not a valid exemption</li><li>No requested time off (RTO) allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 6 days RTO allowed over 13 weeks</li><li>No block scheduling is permitted</li></ul>
