Only negative thing was being in a massive float pool which I wasn’t told about until my arrival on contract. However, a unit decided to keep me 1 month into floating there and then I was able to mainly go only there for the next 9 months! Then I loved it!

I enjoyed Shands South Tower.  It is a teaching facility and level 1 trauma hospital.  The patient population is mostly critical.  Staff and management are very supportive.  It was a great learning experience for me.  I learned to circulate transplants and received extra training in robotics.  Supplies are well organized and rooms are spacious.  

 Allow an additional 9 minutes to your daily commute because the parking deck for travelers is not close by.  A bus is available.  I always walked.  Also, travelers are not exempt from flu shots.

Job Details:
• Work 10-hour day shifts with 4/10 hour shifts variable schedule 
• 40 hours per week guaranteed 
• 13-week contract duration from 01/05/26 to 04/04/26 
• Overnight and weekend call coverage required on rotating basis 
• Weekend requirement includes overnight and weekend call coverage 
• Work in hybrid position covering both pediatric and adult cath labs 
• Patient population includes congenital patients across all ages from neonates to adults 
• Proficiency required in PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention), Impella, IABP (Intra-aortic Balloon Pump), Interventional Cardiology, and Heart Failure patient management 
• Experience with Temp Pacers and structural procedures such as Watchman preferred 
• Proficiency in using Philips Xper documentation system required 
• EP cross-training preferred 
• Prior Epic EMR experience required within the last year 
• Peripheral experience preferred 
• Required certifications: RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Certification, BLS 
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiovascular Technology or Cath Lab required 
• Previous travel experience required 
• Proof of Florida state license required if ARRT certified 
• No work history gaps over 30 days without explanation 
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided 
• Unit manager interviews required 
• Seasonal influenza vaccination required with medical exemption requests allowed 
• Maximum 8 days RTO submission for 13-week contract 
• No RTO allowed first 2 weeks of assignment
