Opportunity:
RN - Cardiac Tele Stepdown

Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM 
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday for both day and night shifts) 
• Holiday rotation schedule with permanent staff 
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: MedSurg/Tele acuity 1:5 (possibly 1:6 if anticipating discharge), PCU acuity 1:4 
• Work on 36-bed cardiac/telemetry progressive care unit (stepdown) 
• Care for cardiac patients including CR bands, post catheterization, AMI, post-operative lung surgeries, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post PCI patients 
• Must be able to titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg 
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips (Phillips monitors with monitor techs available) 
• Higher acuity than most telemetry units - stepdown RN experience preferred 
• Float to any MedSurg/Tele units as needed 
• Required certification: BLS (AHA) 
• BSN not required 
• Charting system: EPIC 
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs, no false nails 
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license (50-mile radius rule) 
• Team nursing with 1 RN and 1 CNA for 6-7 patients when possible 
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract

 American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Oncology position on a night shift, requiring a WV or compact RN license and BLS certification.
 
 <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
 <ul><li>Work in a 36-bed acute Med/Surg-Oncology unit at trauma level 2</li><li>Care for general MedSurg, post-op (lap chole, lap appy), and oncology patients, including those with complications requiring neutropenic precautions</li><li>Patient ratio is typically 1:5-6</li><li>Uses Epic EMR system</li><li>12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required</li><li>Float to any MedSurg/Tele units as needed</li><li>Uses telemetry with Philips monitors; RNs must read and interpret their own strips with tech support available</li><li>Charge nurse present 24/7; night charge takes patients</li><li>Heparin drips are administered; no cardiac drips</li><li>Care for a diverse patient population, including oncology patients with chemotherapy complications and chest tubes</li><li>Participate in the holiday rotation with permanent staff</li><li>Royal blue scrubs required; no false nails allowed</li><li>Must be comfortable floating between MedSurg/Tele units</li><li>Three CNAs support staff during all shifts</li><li>First time travelers are accepted</li><li>Returning travelers must have a two-year break if previously employed at any WVU Medicine location, and cumulative WVU experience as a traveler cannot exceed one year at a time</li></ul>
 
 <h2>Requirements</h2>
 <ul><li>Active WV or compact RN license required</li><li>Current BLS certification (AHA) required</li><li>Minimum of 2 years RN experience</li><li>Experience reading and interpreting telemetry strips required</li><li>Experience with chest tubes and pleurX drains is highly desirable</li><li>Experience in acute care and MedSurg-Oncology settings preferred</li><li>Must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule; local travelers not accepted</li><li>ONS/ONCC (Chemotherapy Biotherapy) certification is a plus</li></ul>
