Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg

Job Details:
• Work 3x12 hour night shifts in a critical access hospital setting 
• Every other weekend required 
• Patient ratio of 1:6 across all shifts 
• 4 hours of orientation provided 
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with previous travel experience mandatory 
• Must have Kansas license or compact license at time of submission 
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, and PALS (CPI preferred) 
• Care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients with daily census of 16 
• Must be skilled in gastrointestinal care including colostomy and feeding tube management 
• Genitourinary/renal experience including renal failure management required 
• IV therapy skills including port access, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and peripheral line care 
• Medication management experience with heparin, insulin, and cardiac drips (no titration) 
• Neurological/psychiatric care including CVA and substance withdrawal 
• Respiratory care including CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, ABGs, oxygen administration, and oral suctioning 
• Must be competent in isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac management 
• May float to different units as needed 
• Two pre-approved time off requests allowed per contract

This critical access hospital provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to the community with an 18-bed capacity. The facility offers interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The medical-surgical unit treats a variety of conditions including chest pain, pulmonary embolism, COPD, and general debility, maintaining a supportive environment for both patients and healthcare professionals.

 American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for night shifts in a critical access hospital requiring at least two years of travel experience and a KS or compact RN license.
 
 <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
 <ul><li>Work in a Medical Surgical unit within a critical access hospital setting</li><li>Night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00</li><li>Patient ratio is 1:6</li><li>Required to work every other weekend</li><li>Travelers may be required to float to different units</li><li>Locals are accepted at the same rate</li><li>Expected to independently manage responsibilities after the second shift</li><li>Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled</li><li>First time travelers will not be considered for this position</li><li>No charting system experience is specified or required</li></ul>
