<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Sep 28, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Critical access hospital setting within the Labor and Delivery unit</li><li>Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month</li><li>Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)</li><li>Every third weekend required</li><li>Floating to different units may be required</li><li>Centricity EMR experience preferred</li><li>Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis by the manager</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration</li><li>Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NRP</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required</li><li>Previous charge nurse experience preferred</li><li>Previous travel nursing experience required</li><li>Community hospital experience preferred</li><li>Skilled in assisting with sterile speculum exams, NST, reflex checks, and sterile vaginal exams</li><li>Experienced in the use of External Fetal Monitoring (EFM)</li><li>Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration</li><li>Experienced in managing high-risk and vaginal deliveries, including forceps/vacuum extraction and C-Sections</li><li>Skilled in neonatal and newborn care, including APGAR scoring and newborn assessments</li><li>Experienced in postpartum care, including care for Cesarean Section and multiple births</li><li>One professional reference required for consideration</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages</li><li>Assist with vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extractions, and recovery from C-Sections</li><li>Manage administration of medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Antihypertensives</li><li>Deliver neonatal care in the delivery room, including thermoregulation and initial newborn assessments</li><li>Provide newborn care including cord care, discharge teaching, and metabolic screening</li><li>Support postpartum recovery including fundus, lochia, and perineum care, as well as breastfeeding support</li><li>Assist with surgical cases such as Cervical Cerclage</li><li>Perform fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and IUPC placement</li><li>Provide pain management support, including epidural anesthesia care</li><li>Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate</li><li>No radius restriction for candidacy</li></ul>
