Pros
Traveler friendly, 5:1 ratio (they try to only give you 4), both day and night shift staff is nice to travelers and helpful in the first few weeks when you’re learning. They use Epic. Can make your own schedule after the first week. I extended twice, was a good assignment
Cons
Some days are very busy and acuity is high with little help. Some days they open hallway beds and there’s ICU patients in the hallway but charge tries to move them fast. It’s a busy ED but you usually have techs and other nurses to help you if you’re getting slammed.

Pros
Patient care techs are friendly and supportive. Emergency department and CTICU have great cultures.
Cons
Often 1:3 ratio in ICU. Work culture on most units is not helpful or friendly—you are on your own. Doctors are unreachable, rude, and do not adhere to the standard of care. It is difficult to advocate for your patients without receiving pushback or attitude.
