Very minimally busy most of the time and there is always two RTs on shift. Nice physicians and providers. The Director of Respiratory is the nicest man in the world. RTs are some autonomy with Bronchodilator protocol and respect from providers.

Very strained working relationships with some of the nursing staff. The particular area this hospital is located in comes with very different world views. You get the feeling you are not welcome as an outsider and will never be considered a part of the team where some are concerned. There is an open door policy there with administration and a computer system that allows anyone to go directly to HR with complaints on team members. These policies and this system is very widely abused and is used in a harassing manner. This makes for an uncomfortable experience for most. The facility is old, worn out and needs to be dozed to the ground. Most of the time the heating and air does not work appropriately, again making an uncomfortable experience. This facility is located on the interchange of two major interstates, however, it is still in a fairly remote, rural part of VA and there is very little to do aside from enjoying nature.
