The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients by applying the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and established hospital policies and procedures. The role requires strong critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership capabilities to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and manage patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities in various patient situations.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and professional development.
• Delegate patient care tasks according to the skills and experiences of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to nursing personnel delivering patient care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department setting.
• Current Arizona Nursing License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred and may result in additional compensation.
• Willingness to float to different areas as needed.

Facility Features:

• Emergency Department with 38 beds.
• Trauma Level III, Stroke Receiving, and STEMI Receiving certified.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended but not required.
