Summary

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in the vibrant city of New York, NY. This role offers a dynamic work environment in an ambulatory care setting, where you will play a crucial role in patient recovery and care. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in the Ambulatory PACU setting
  • Monitor patients post-anesthesia, ensuring safety and comfort
  • Administer medications, including emergency and analgesic medications
  • Perform pre-op assessments and provide patient education
  • Ensure proper documentation using the Epic system
  • Manage cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
  • Implement hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia protocols and insulin management
  • Assist with surgical procedures, including endoscopic and laparoscopic cases
  • Administer anesthesia recovery protocols, including local and spinal anesthesia
  • Conduct pre- and post-operative care and discharge instructions

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or a similar setting
  • Active New York State RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Experience with Epic documentation system preferred
  • Strong clinical skills in ambulatory and outpatient care
  • Proficient in IV insertion, maintenance, and medication administration
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
