Description
Registered Nurse - ICU

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Surgical ICU, focusing on trauma and transplant cases.
- Manage and monitor patients with complex medical conditions, including acute kidney injury, respiratory failure, and traumatic brain injuries.
- Administer and titrate medications, including cardiac and vasoactive drips, as well as manage ventilator settings and other advanced life support equipment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using the Epic charting system.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures, including patient safety and infection control standards.
- Float to other adult ICUs and stepdown units as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting, with specific experience in a Surgical ICU preferred.
- Experience in a Level I Trauma center is required.
- Current MA nursing license or a conditional MA license with active pursuit of a permanent license.
- Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR).
- Proficiency in managing central lines, arterial lines, and ventilators, as well as interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative patient care.
- Flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends, as part of a union facility with no special scheduling accommodations.
- Ability to complete required testing and modules prior to and during orientation.
