Responsibilities

• Perform assigned duties accurately and efficiently according to established procedures.
• Use proper techniques and equipment in the performance of duties.
• Prepare specimens for processing, ensuring accurate identification and logging of specimens.
• Process and analyze specimens using manual or automated methods for qualitative or quantitative results.
• Review results for accuracy and completeness before releasing them.
• Participate in quality control and assurance activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of laboratory and hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain departmental equipment and supplies, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Assist with training and improvement initiatives in the laboratory.
• Perform specimen collection duties, ensuring accurate patient identification.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with ASCP, AMT, NCCLS, or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain good rapport with hospital staff and patients.
