Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU).
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications, including cardiac and vasoactive drips, and manage IV therapies.
• Conduct respiratory assessments and manage non-invasive airway devices such as BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.
• Implement isolation precautions and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Provide wound care and manage wound vacs.
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the EPIC charting system.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a PCU, DOU, IMC, or step-down unit.
• Current NY nursing license in hand.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg patients.
• Strong skills in telemetry, IV therapy, and phlebotomy.
• Experience in managing central and peripheral lines, and administering blood products.
• Proficient in managing patients with complex medical conditions, including renal failure and traumatic brain injury.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
