Tripod Partners is seeking an experienced Travel ICU Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for an exciting assignment in Rochester, New York. This neurosurgical unit provides an excellent opportunity to care for a diverse patient population while working alongside specialized multidisciplinary teams focused on complex neurological and neurosurgical care.

The unit is a mixed-acuity environment featuring both floor-level care and an 8-bed high-acuity step-down unit for patients requiring advanced hemodynamic and neurological monitoring. Nurses will care for patients with conditions and procedures including brain tumors, spinal malformations, neuroendovascular conditions, epilepsy, and complex neurosurgical cases.

The ideal candidate will have strong high-acuity stroke and neurosurgical experience, with proficiency in Q1 neurological assessments, EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, 3% hypertonic saline, Cardene drips, arterial lines, carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm coiling and clipping, DBS insertion, VP shunts, and seizure management.

Candidates must have previous Stepdown/PCU experience, recent telemetry experience, and a minimum of two years of nursing experience. An active New York State RN license is required. Current BLS and NIHSS certifications are required, while ACLS is preferred.

This position offers 36 or 48 hours per week with a rotating Day/Evening/Night schedule. Weekend, holiday, on-call, callback, and charge responsibilities may be required based on unit needs. Straight shifts are not guaranteed.
