Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and treatment plans using Cerner charting system.
• Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PCU/Stepdown nursing.
• Active PA or compact nursing license.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with patient ratios of 6:1 and managing telemetry patients.
• Proficiency in handling various medical equipment and procedures such as BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, and cardiac telemetry.
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend as scheduled.
• Preferred experience with Cerner charting system and trauma level II care.
