Description
WCS Healthcare is currently hiring an experienced Pediatric RN for a contract assignment at a prestigious hospital in Rochester, NY. This role is ideal for a nurse who excels in caring for infants, children, and adolescents, and who brings strong assessment skills, emotional resilience, and a family‑centered approach to care.
Job Function:
- Rotating Shift.
- 3x12.
- Conduct age‑appropriate assessments, ask diagnostic questions, and document symptoms and medical history for physician review.
- Provide initial and ongoing care based on a child’s developmental needs and clinical condition.
- Identify changes in pediatric patients’ symptoms and intervene promptly in emergency situations.
- Participate in pediatric pain management using evidence‑based, age‑appropriate strategies.
- Administer medications, draw blood, and give childhood vaccinations in accordance with pediatric guidelines.
- Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure.
- Support parents and caregivers by addressing concerns, reducing anxiety, and helping families navigate illness or injury.
- Stay current on pediatric best practices, treatment protocols, medications, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date patient records, charts, and documentation.
Job Requirements:
A bachelor's or associate's degree in nursing.
Minimum 2 years RN experience
Pediatric Cardiac Care experience required
Active NY RN License (NY ONLY)
Telemetry experience required
BLS – American Heart Association only
PALS – American Heart Association only
