Description
WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to join a high‑performing L&D team at a respected hospital in New York City. The ideal clinician is confident in fetal monitoring, labor management, emergency response, and supporting providers throughout the childbirth process.
Job Function:
- Night Shift.
- 3x11: 7:30pm- 8am.
- Assess and categorize patients into the appropriate level of care
- Apply and interpret external fetal monitoring, including fetal heart tracings and uterine activity
- Implement timely interventions based on fetal heart rate patterns and maternal condition
- Identify and respond to obstetric emergencies, escalating to providers appropriately
- Administer medications safely in accordance with the Five Rights and infection‑control standards
- Perform pain assessments and reassess per clinical guidelines
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care
Job Requirements:
Active New York State RN License
Primary Source Verification via NYSED
AHA BLS
AHA ACLS
NRP certification
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
Maternal & Child experience — minimum 2 years
IV insertion — minimum 2 years
Phlebotomy — minimum 2 years
Conscious sedation — minimum 2 years
