Description

WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to join a high‑performing L&D team at a respected hospital in New York. The ideal clinician is confident in fetal monitoring, labor management, emergency response, and supporting providers throughout the childbirth process.

Job Function:

Shift & Hours: 34.5 hrs/ 3x11 Nights 7:30pm- 8am
Assess and categorize patients into the appropriate level of care
Apply and interpret external fetal monitoring, including fetal heart tracings and uterine activity
Implement timely interventions based on fetal heart rate patterns and maternal condition
Identify and respond to obstetric emergencies, escalating to providers appropriately
Administer medications safely in accordance with the Five Rights and infection‑control standards
Perform pain assessments and reassess per clinical guidelines
Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care

Job Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Current RN license for the state that you are working in (or willingness to obtain)
2 years of acute care experience in this specialty
BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association
Fetal Monitoring Certificate Preferred
Excellent communication and customer service skills
