Description
Job Title: Nuclear Med Tech
Location: Not specified
Job Summary: Performs venipuncture as required for exams and administers isotopes for procedures. Positions patients to obtain desired views and performs imaging as appropriate. Sends images to PACS for Radiologist interpretation. Completes documentation for radiation safety programs and equipment testing. Prepares patients for exams, educates them and/or their families on procedures, and ensures proper documentation. Rotates call assignments for 24-hour coverage, coordinates scheduling with other departments, and maintains patient flow. Manages supplies efficiently, adheres to dress codes, and functions as a preceptor for new employees. Complies with infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines, and maintains patient confidentiality while treating patients and families with respect and dignity. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology/Nuclear Medicine program
- NMTCB or ARRT certification
- Kentucky State certification
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to operate Nuclear Medicine equipment
- Knowledge of Keyboard Patient Registration and Sieman Software
