Job Details:
Location: Springfield, IL
Start Date: ASAP / October 12, 2026
Contract Length: 24 Weeks
Unit: Cardiac/Pulmonary
Specialty: RN – Telemetry
Shift: 12-hour Night Shift
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week, Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
Support Staff: 2 Patient Care Technicians available on the unit

Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to adult telemetry and cardiac/pulmonary patients.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient status.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in cardiac rhythm and overall patient condition.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
• Monitor patients requiring telemetry and report abnormal findings or changes to the appropriate provider.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, patient care technicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatments, disease management, and discharge instructions.
• Promote patient safety and follow infection-control and hospital policies.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff while maintaining accountability for patient care.

Requirements
• Active Illinois RN license in hand
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Previous telemetry/cardiac nursing experience
• Ability to safely manage a 1:5–6 patient ratio
• Strong cardiac monitoring and assessment skills
• RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted at the time of application
