Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a critical need contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have recent ICU experience and be proficient in caring for critically ill adult patients requiring advanced monitoring, life-support therapies, and rapid clinical intervention. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU.
Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
Operate and monitor advanced life-support equipment, including cardiac monitors and ventilators.
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and critical care treatments safely and accurately.
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Perform patient and family education regarding treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and complete timely documentation.
Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies and procedures.
Participate in rapid response situations and emergency interventions as required.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
Minimum 1 year of recent full-time ICU nursing experience within the last 3 years.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of practice.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
NIH Stroke Scale certification.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
Experience caring for critically ill adult patients in a fast-paced ICU environment.
