Description

Make a meaningful difference as a travel OT in San Antonio, TX. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve their daily skills while exploring a new location.


Minimum Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program. (Client requires Master’s degree; Bachelor’s not accepted.)
  • Active Texas Occupational Therapist license required prior to start of assignment.
  • Successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or equivalent national registry exam.
  • Valid BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience in an outpatient setting preferred. Experience performing evaluations, treatment planning, and implementing therapy programs required.
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and work with physicians to ensure comprehensive delivery of services.

Standard Job Description

Occupational Therapist will perform clinical duties including evaluations, formulating treatment plans, and ensuring that treatment plans are carried out in accordance with medical protocols. The therapist will coordinate with the Therapy Director to perform business and documentation duties related to therapy services at the center. Responsibilities include ensuring delivery of high quality patient care; performing direct patient care including evaluation of musculoskeletal, neurological, and other physical problems; supporting multidisciplinary coordination of treatment; and maintaining appropriate documentation and compliance with quality assurance policies and corporate regulations. The therapist will educate patients on use of supports and exercise programs, perform or delegate modalities, therapeutic exercises, and gait training, and secure prescriptions for each patient treated. The therapist will collaborate with physicians to ensure comprehensive delivery of services and assist with marketing or tours as needed.


Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university (client-specific requirement).
  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Texas.
  • Successful completion of the National Registry Examination (NBCOT).
  • Valid BLS certification.
  • Preferred: prior outpatient clinic experience and familiarity with documentation and billing procedures for therapy services.
