Description
Make a real difference as a travel Physical Therapist Assistant. You will work with home health patients recovering from injury or illness, helping them move better, feel better, and remain as independent as possible under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current license, registration, or certification required to assist in the practice of physical therapy in Tennessee prior to the start of the assignment.
- Current CPR (BLS) certification required.
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or reliable public transportation for travel between patient visits.
- Experience providing home health physical therapy or working in home care settings preferred.
- Ability to follow a supervising Physical Therapist’s plan of care, document progress notes per agency policy, and communicate changes in patient condition to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, or physician.
- Willingness to participate in weekend rotations and be available for observed holidays as needed; schedule flexibility required.
- Client requirement: ability to visit patients across Rutherford County, TN service area and other nearby agency service areas as needed.

- Coverage area: Rutherford County, TN (travel between visits reimbursed).
- On-call/weekend requirement: None for routine coverage; may require participation in weekend rotation and holiday availability per agency needs.

Position Responsibilities
- Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction of a supervising Physical Therapist within scope of practice and state law.
- Follow the prescribed plan of care and perform only tasks for which you are trained and qualified.
- Document progress notes for each patient visit per agency policy and report changes in patient condition to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, or physician.
- Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in therapeutic activities, transfers, gait training, and home exercise programs.
- Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team and participate in staff conferences as requested.
- Visit patients throughout the assigned service area and provide coverage to nearby agency service areas as needed.
- Adhere to agency standards of practice and complete other duties as assigned.
