Description

Make a meaningful difference as a travel OT. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve their daily skills while working in Montgomery, AL.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
  • Active Alabama Occupational Therapist license required to start the assignment.
  • BLS certification required from AHA or ARC.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with familiarity and/or experience in acute care required. Experience with high-acuity and complex patients, including s/p cardiac and general cardiovascular, s/p ortho/joint procedures, trauma, and s/p stroke is required.
  • Ability to evaluate, treat, and manage a caseload independently.
  • Willingness and ability to assist with ADLs and teach patients; comfortable working with students.
  • Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team and being flexible and efficient. Team-player mindset required.
  • Cerner charting experience preferred but not required.
  • Floating between facilities is not required; candidate must be able to work at this hospital location.

Assignment Details

  • Facility Type: Hospital
  • Shift Name: Days
  • Shift Details: Days 0800-1600
  • Schedule: Typically 0800-1630 but may vary based on departmental needs; 40 hours per week.
  • Weekend rotation: Occasional weekends depending on department needs.
  • Holiday expectations: Vary based on department needs; time off requests required for holidays you cannot work.
  • Orientation: Day 1 hospital orientation and learning modules; Day 2 departmental training and Cerner refresher. Typically about 1 week of orientation prior to first caseload.
  • Support on Unit: Supervisor/Manager and other therapists. Most days there will be multiple OTs on shift.
  • Charting System: Cerner (experience preferred but not required).
