Description

Make a meaningful difference as a travel OT. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to support home health patients in West Allis, WI, and surrounding counties. The clinician will provide evaluations and skilled treatment to adults in home settings to improve daily function and independence.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active Wisconsin Occupational Therapy license required prior to start.
  • Minimum 3 years of OT experience. Experience in home health strongly preferred. Acceptable backgrounds include SNF or acute care, with preference for home health clinicians.
  • BLS certification required from AHA or ARC.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and active auto insurance required for home visits.
  • Proficiency in general OT evaluation and treatment focused on ADLs and adaptive equipment.
  • Experience working with geriatric populations and common home health diagnoses such as post-stroke, post-joint replacement, weakness/deconditioning, COPD, and CHF preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC EMR preferred.

Assignment Details

  • Facility type: Hospital-affiliated Home Health.
  • Shift: Days.
  • Shift hours: 0800-1600.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday.
  • Standard hours per week: 40.
  • Caseload expectation: Approximately 6 patient visits (points) per day; evaluation visits typically 1.5 hours, standard visits 1 hour.
  • Coverage area: Primary coverage in Racine County and Kenosha County. Typical drive times 20–30 minutes; occasional drives up to about 60 minutes.
  • Orientation: First day at the National Avenue office in Milwaukee with EPIC training, followed by preceptor-led orientation week.
  • Floating: Clinician will cover patients across Racine and Kenosha counties as needed.
  • Weekend/on-call/holiday: No weekend rotation, no on-call, no routine holiday expectations.

The area offers access to Lake Michigan shoreline within a 20–30 minute drive to south-facing beaches and waterfront parks. Outdoor options include the Menomonee River Parkway within the city for biking and walking and a 30–40 minute drive to Kettle Moraine State Forest for hiking and trails. Cultural amenities and entertainment are available in nearby Milwaukee, including the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Historic Third Ward, all reachable within a 20–25 minute commute. The locale suits clinicians seeking a suburban lifestyle with convenient urban access and regional outdoor recreation.


About the Role

The clinician will collaborate with RN and PT interdisciplinary teams and report to an RN supervisor. Daily operations include a morning phone huddle. Clinicians will provide comprehensive home health OT services focused on functional independence, adaptive equipment recommendations, and interdisciplinary coordination.

  • Proof of driver’s license and active auto insurance.
  • Resume with at least 3 years OT experience highlighted.
