Description
Make a meaningful difference as a travel Occupational Therapist in Montgomery, AL. Provide skilled evaluation and treatment to patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities to help them regain independence in daily activities. This opportunity is based in a hospital setting with a diverse, high-acuity patient population and a multidisciplinary team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
- Active Alabama Occupational Therapy license required to start the assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience in acute care or familiarity with acute care patient types, including s/p cardiac and cardiovascular procedures, s/p ortho/joint procedures, trauma, and stroke.
- Ability to evaluate, treat, and manage a caseload independently.
- Willingness and ability to assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Comfortable working with students in a teaching facility environment.
- Ability to use Cerner charting system or willingness to complete Cerner training.
- Ability to work efficiently, be flexible, and collaborate as a team member.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of clinical experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting.
- Experience treating high-acuity and complex patients.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours typically 0800-1630; schedule may vary based on departmental needs.
- Workweek is 40 hours.
- Occasional weekend rotation based on departmental needs.
- Holiday coverage depends on departmental needs; time off requests required for holidays you cannot work.
- Orientation includes hospital orientation with learning modules, departmental training, and Cerner refresher; typically one week of orientation prior to caseload.
- No floating between facilities.
- Scrub requirements: professional colors only; matching top and bottom required.
