Description
We're looking for Registered Nurses (RN) for an immediate travel opening in San Francisco, CA at our Rehabilitation Hospital.
The right RN should have at least 1 year of experience in rehabilitation setting. Read below for more details.
As an RN in a Rehabilitation Hospital, you will provide specialized care to patients recovering from serious illnesses, injuries, or surgeries. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans, ensuring that patients regain as much function and independence as possible.
As an RN in a Rehabilitation Hospital, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
- Patient Care: Provide direct care to patients with neurological, orthopedic, or other rehabilitation needs, including stroke recovery, spinal cord injuries, joint replacements, or brain injuries
- Care Planning: Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other members of the rehab team to develop and implement personalized care plans that support patient recovery goals
- Monitoring & Assessment: Regularly assess patients' physical and mental condition, monitor vital signs, neurological function, and progress in therapy. Adjust care plans as necessary based on patient response.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, monitor for side effects, and ensure proper dosage and timely delivery. Assist with pain management strategies to promote patient comfort during rehabilitation
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families about recovery goals, rehabilitation techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to promote independence in daily activities
- Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies, including sudden changes in condition, respiratory distress, or cardiac issues, and act quickly to stabilize patients when needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, treatments, and progress toward rehabilitation goals in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Discharge Planning: Assist with discharge planning, ensuring patients and families are prepared for post discharge care, including home modifications, continued therapies, and follow-up appointments
- Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, case managers, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs
The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience as an RN in a rehabilitation setting. Current BLS certification is required. Additional certifications may be required. Must be eligible for state licensure.
Rehabilitation Nurses should be able to stand or walk for long periods and must be able to bend, stoop, and lift with proper body mechanics. They should have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage complex care needs. They must be compassionate, patient, and skilled in promoting recovery and independence for patients recovering from serious injuries or illnesses.
