Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available

Opportunity:

Scientist - Medical Lab Scientist

Job Details:

• Work 7 days on/7 days off schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Full-time position
• Perform routine and complicated laboratory procedures including specimen processing and testing
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed
• Calculate, enter, and verify results of laboratory procedures
• Utilize Laboratory Information System for data management
• Process patient specimens with attention to minimal pediatric specimen volumes
• Participate in quality control procedures and assure proper program compliance
• Provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values
• Must possess certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS
• Louisiana state license required
• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science required
• No experience required for graduates of accredited clinical laboratory training programs
• Alternative: One year of approved clinical laboratory experience including rotations through Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids
