Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratios of 1:5
• Weekend requirement: every third weekend (Friday and Saturday considered weekend for nights)
• Must float to PCU and McDermott (behavioral health) as needed
• Self-scheduling system
• BLS certification required
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score or face termination
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Driver's license required for submission
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• First week classroom orientation followed by one 12-hour shift on unit
• Care for patients with total knees, total hips, shoulder replacements, COPD, diabetes, wounds, IV infusions, dementia, oncology, fractures, sepsis, pneumonia, and other medical-surgical conditions
• Manage common drips including Heparin, IV antibiotics, antithrombics, and narcotics (no titration required)
• Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports
• Work with 28 beds plus 22 overflow capacity
• Use EPIC charting system
• Must be flexible, self-directed, and enjoy learning new skills
