Description
Opportunity:
RN - CVICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs and worked into rotation
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 with high number of 1:1 assignments
• Float to other ICUs and telemetry units (4:1 ratio on tele) - travelers float first before permanent staff
• May be required to float to Westgate campus when needed
• Must have Level I trauma experience required
• ICU experience only, CVICU experience preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must pass Day 1 orientation exam including SIMS Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Strong IV skills required as there is no IV team
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Dress code: Navy scrubs, natural hair color only, no facial piercings, men must be clean shaven for fit testing
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CCRN preferred
• EMR system: Cerner
• 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
• Handle high acuity patients including cardiac surgery recovery, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, ECMO procedures
• Assist with bedside procedures including bronchs, Swan catheters, and epidurals
• 50-mile radius rule applies

This major medical center operates a 24-bed CTICU/CVICU unit providing comprehensive cardiac and thoracic intensive care services. The facility maintains Level I trauma designation and offers advanced cardiac surgery recovery, transplant services, and complex thoracic procedures. The unit features intensivist coverage during days with on-call availability at night, 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, and utilizes Phillips telemetry monitoring. The facility maintains high standards for nursing competency and sterile technique, expecting all staff to demonstrate proficiency in critical care procedures and maintaining strict protocols for patient safety.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
