Description
Opportunity:
RN - CVICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 with high number of 1:1 assignments
• Float to other ICUs and telemetry units (4:1 ratio on telemetry)
• Travelers float first before permanent staff
• May be required to float to Westgate campus when requested
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• 2-day floor-specific orientation required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (CCRN preferred)
• ICU experience required, CVICU experience preferred
• Level 2 ICU experience accepted from teaching/high acuity/large hospitals
• Strong IV skills required as there is no IV team
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Natural hair color required with no facial piercings
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Navy scrubs required
• Care for cardiac surgery recovery patients, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, ECMO, and other high-acuity cases
• Handle high number of bedside procedures including bronchoscopies, Swan-Ganz catheters, and epidurals
• Work with Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry systems
• First-time travelers accepted

This Level 1 trauma center operates a 24-bed CTICU/CVICU unit providing highly specialized cardiac and thoracic intensive care services. The facility maintains very high acuity standards with intensivist coverage during days and on-call at night, 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, and specialized programs including transplant services. The organization emphasizes excellence in critical care with advanced technology and comprehensive support services for complex cardiac and thoracic surgical patients.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
