RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in an 11-bed Emergency Department with team nursing model
• Day shift staffing includes 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, and 1 Radiology Tech
• Night shift staffing includes 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, and 1 Radiology Tech
• Block scheduling is mandatory
• May float to Brownsville FSED (23.25 miles away) and Main ED at main campus (23 miles away)
• Use Meditech electronic medical record system
• Work with standard emergency department equipment
• Perform phlebotomy, ED nursing care across all triage levels, airway management/intubation support
• Provide splinting/immobilization, moderate sedation monitoring and recovery
• Assist with wound care/laceration repair, cardiac monitoring, code response and resuscitation support
• Must demonstrate strong ED clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to rapidly assess, prioritize and intervene in high acuity and low resource ED setting with strong triage skills
• Must work independently within a small high functioning team environment
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, and TNCC
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
• Previous FSED experience and Meditech knowledge preferred
