Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts
• 40-bed unit with average daily census of 24 patients
• Care for adult patients with cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, respiratory conditions, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, and renal failure
• Must be competent in arterial lines and required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
• Responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• May float to Med/Surg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Navy blue scrub color required
• One day of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must pass open book exam on Wednesdays during orientation with 90% score to continue
• Work with overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanners
• Chart using EPIC system
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with any CommonSpirit facility
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• Focus on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and medication communication
• Serve diverse cultural populations including Hispanic and Somalian communities
