Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• 2 major holidays and 2 minor holidays required depending on contract dates
• Self-scheduling available
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4
• Minimum 2 years of experience required - no exceptions
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (maximum 2 attempts only)
• Must pass sim lab on day one of orientation or will be sent home
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA)
• Must have EKG monitoring skills and ability to interpret EKGs
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac, heparin, Lasix, and Bumex
• Floating requirements to any telemetry floor and potentially to sister facility Mercy Gilbert
• Navy scrubs required
• 2-day unit orientation on the floor
• Care for patients with CHF, general telemetry, fluid overload, shortness of breath, arrhythmias, and ETOH
• Work with respiratory equipment including nasal cannula and BiPap/CPAP for obstructive sleep apnea
• Chart using Cerner system
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Facility:

This acute care medical center is a Level 1 trauma facility featuring a 30-bed CHF telemetry unit (B3B) with centralized telemetry monitoring. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac care services and maintains high standards for patient safety with specialized equipment and protocols. The unit is supported by PCTs with a ratio of 1 per every 15 patients, and charge nurses who do not take patient assignments to ensure optimal supervision and patient care coordination.
