Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement - Friday and Saturday for night shifts, Saturday and Sunday for day shifts
• Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly
• First to float when needed
• Multi Care Unit with combined acuity levels (ICU, PCU, MST) - no floating between separate units
• Patient ratios vary by acuity: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MST 1:5-6, or 1:3 primary care if no nurse aide available
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract (80% minimum score required)
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required, or 1 year ICU plus 1 year PCU/Med-Surg from larger facilities with strong skills
• Required to titrate drips including sedation, vasopressors, and insulin
• Must take 12-lead EKGs and monitor ICU patients via bedside cardiac monitors
• Float requirements include EC MST, Pediatric unit for adult patients, and West Campus in Prescott for ICU/PCU
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, suicide attempts, drug/alcohol withdrawal, COPD, respiratory arrest, pneumonia, DKA
• Work with respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPap with RT support
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub dress code: any color except camouflage
• Standby rotation required during low census periods
• 10-bed unit with charge RN managing 50 inpatient beds total
