Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:2-3 for adults
• Care for trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress patients
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips
• May float to PCU or MedSurg units with ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must pass open book exam on Wednesdays during orientation with 90% score
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius of facility
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Self-scheduling for core staff with travelers added in
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• Charting system: EPIC
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This healthcare facility operates a 33-bed intensive care unit with an average daily census of 16 patients. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center providing acute care services with comprehensive ICU capabilities. The unit is equipped with modern monitoring technology including GE telemetry systems and provides care for a diverse patient population requiring intensive medical intervention. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes current healthcare technology and protocols.
