Description

Opportunity:

RN - ICU Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Float between ICU, Medical Surgery Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit across both campuses
• May include inpatients holding in Emergency Department
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirements include travelers in permanent staff rotation
• Nurse to patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts with 80% score prior to contract signing
• At least 1 year ICU experience required
• Must be comfortable managing multiple titratable drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Must be able to interpret telemetry strips
• Work with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow in PCU
• Unit assignments notified 2 hours prior to shift start via text message
• Standby requirement possible when excessive staffing occurs
• Common patient types include geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural cardiac patients, and CABG post-op day 3-4
• Professional solid color scrubs required (transitioning to navy scrubs in October)
• 32-hour orientation includes general hospital orientation and unit-specific training
• Charting system: Cerner
• BSN not required

Traveler friendly, good ratios, great scheduling, decent providers, Uses tiger text to communicate with most doctors. Plenty of hiking activities. Close to Sedona, Flagstaff and Phoenix. 5:1 Med/tele and 3:1 PCU.

Cons

Cost of living is High, roughly $2000-2500 for your own private space. Float between East and West Campus, 25 minutes apart, west will likely be where you spend 75% of your shifts so pick your housing accordingly.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
