Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks
• Holiday coverage based on unit coverage needs
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2 with high number of 1:1 assignments
• Must have Level I trauma experience
• ICU experience required, CVICU experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (CCRN preferred)
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail SIMS Lab on day 1 of orientation for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Strong IV skills required as there is no IV team
• Float to other ICUs and telemetry units (4:1 ratio on tele)
• May be required to float to Westgate campus
• 2-day floor-specific orientation
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Natural hair color and no facial piercings required
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Navy scrubs required
• Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry
• Care for cardiac surgery recovery, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, thoracic, ECMO, and other high-acuity patients
• Experience with bedside procedures including bronchs, Swan-Ganz catheters, and epidurals preferred

The facility is a Level I trauma center that specializes in complex cardiac procedures, organ transplantation, and high-acuity critical care. The unit features state-of-the-art technology and maintains intensivist coverage during days with on-call support at night, along with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services to support critically ill patients.
