Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Self-scheduling with cyclic rotation
• Every other weekend requirement
• Rotate with permanent staff for holiday coverage
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 22-bed unit with average daily census of 6
• Care for patients with total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, and spine surgeries
• Administer pain medications, antibiotics, and blood products
• Work with telemetry monitoring system with dedicated tele techs for strip interpretation
• Float to Med/Surg, rehab, or PCU units as needed
• One day of unit-specific orientation provided
• BLS certification required
• Must pass open-book skills exam with 90% score during orientation
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Driver's license required for distance verification
• EPIC charting system used
• Team-oriented approach with emphasis on flexibility and willingness to learn
