Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend schedule every other weekend (EOW)
• May be required to participate in holiday rotation
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:2-3 in 10-bed ICU unit
• Must have 3 years of ICU experience required
• Must have balloon pump experience required
• Must be comfortable with ventilator management and drip titration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Care for patients with respiratory distress, post-arrest, acute MI, balloon pumps, ventilators, and patients requiring vasopressor support
• Required to titrate drips including vasopressors, levophed, neo, epinephrine, nitroglycerin, heparin, and angiography medications
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Expected to troubleshoot respiratory equipment appropriately
• Charge nurse takes full patient assignment
• May be required to float to any inpatient unit as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required
• One day general orientation plus one day with preceptor
• Use Cerner Corporation Soarian charting system
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• Must reside within 50-mile radius of facility

The facility operates as a non-closed ICU where primary physicians manage patient care rather than dedicated intensivists. The unit provides comprehensive critical care including balloon pump management, ventilator support, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring. Respiratory therapy services are available 24/7 with coverage across multiple units, and the facility maintains nocturnist coverage for after-hours physician support.
