Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Manage 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratios on a 33-bed stepdown unit
• Care for patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics with conditions including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and complex medical issues
• Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Work every other weekend as required
• May be required to float to Medical-Surgical, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care units
• Complete bedside reporting and hourly rounding as part of patient care standards
• Handle busy patient flow with admissions and discharges occurring within the same shift
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass open book skills exam during orientation with 90% score
• Orientation includes first week classroom training followed by 2 twelve-hour floor shifts
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
• Chart using EPIC system
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
