Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12.5-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on weekends
• Holiday rotation required
• Every other weekend requirement depending on staffing needs
• Maintain 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio with clinical associate assistance
• No call or standby requirements
• Floating will be done on rotational basis with other staff members
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Royal blue scrub color required
• BSN degree not required
• Must have strong assessment skills and ability to adapt to fast-paced work environment
• Responsible for titrating drips including cardizem, labetalol, and amiodarone
• Basic EKG interpretation skills needed
• Care for trauma and general medical/surgical patients
• Manage patients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic fractures, and complex trauma
• Provide respiratory care including BiPap management, blood gas interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Support reconstructive plastic surgery patients and advanced diabetic management
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract

This healthcare facility operates a Level 1 trauma center serving as the only Level 1 trauma center in West Virginia. The stepdown unit features 24 spacious private rooms with state-of-the-art monitoring capabilities and 11 rooms equipped with in-ceiling lifts to promote early patient mobilization. The facility specializes in comprehensive trauma care, complex medical-surgical cases, and provides 24-hour hemodynamic monitoring with telemetry capabilities and video monitoring for patient safety.
