Opportunity:

RN - Tele Float Pool Stepdown

Job Details:

• Night shifts with weekends as needed, possibly consecutive weekends
• Float pool position covering multiple units including observation unit, med-surg, general surgery, ortho surgery, short stay surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, telemetry, and progressive care
• Nurse to patient ratios: 4-5 patients for med-surg, 3 patients for progressive care
• Care for med-surg and post-operative surgical patients, progressive care patients including strokes, lines, drains, chest tubes, CHF, post vascular procedures, arrhythmias, and DKA
• May occasionally titrate drips including heparin, nicardipine, NTG, insulin, and cardizem
• Work with fixed drips such as dopamine/dobutamine for stepdown patients
• Required to read cardiac monitor strips with remote cardiac monitoring
• Work with respiratory equipment including CPAP and BiPAP
• Self-scheduling available with every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirements depend on staffing needs
• No call or standby requirements
• Daily unit assignments provided via staffing sheets
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Must complete general hospital orientation, Myles modules, Cerner validation class, and unit-specific orientation
• Med-surg and PCU/stepdown experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• BSN not required
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Primary assignment with potential to float throughout Region One facilities with additional $20/hour compensation when floated
• Must start on biweekly general hospital orientation dates
