Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratios: mainly 1:5-6 for both days and nights (occasionally up to 7 patients toward end of shift)
• Every-other-weekend requirement for Saturday/Sunday shifts
• Participate in holiday rotation schedule
• Floor-specific orientation: 1-2 shifts with preceptor
• Required certification: BLS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Perform aerosols for non-vented patients and EKGs
• BSN not required
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• No false nails policy
• 50-mile radius rule applies - must include copy of unexpired driver's license
• Use Epic EMR system
• Common patient types: CHF, cardiac catheterization, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology
• May float to critical care for med/surg or stepdown patients
• Charge nurse responsibilities available (day charge does not take patients, night charge takes patients)
• Support available: CNAs on all units, IV team until 10 PM M-F and 3:30 PM weekends, in-house pharmacy 24/7, respiratory therapy 24/7
